Looking like the NOCO Gen5x1 may not work in this application. It apparently is designed to require direct to the battery ONLY connections. It was a ROYAL PITA to get the new battery cables installed. I'm not going thru that again for the battery charger. And anyway I want it on the shunt so that I can see the charging it provides on the battery monitor. I also have the + on the vehicle side of the breaker that isolates the battery from everything else. So far connected like that it is stuck in 'Stand-By' mode. NOCO wants it connected directly to a battery, any battery to test it. This is installed in a camper. Hauling a battery out of one of the other vehicles into the camper isn't going to make SWMBO very happy.
Started looking at the Victron chargers, and for LiFePO4 charging they're pretty overkill, as is the NOCO. Honestly I'm back to looking at feeding the solar charge controller with a power supply. Perhaps one with a large diode in the + wire and maybe that isn't necessary.
