wow - lol 200 plus kms/hr! LOL MY diesel won't do that fast.

Actually only in my Old Porsche feel semi -compfortable at 200 + km/h

im lucky to get 120km/h out of mine

Which I would have thought is plenty quick enough for any 4WD!!

Why would you want to do 200 clicks in your top heavy poor handling (on road) 4WD??. They just aint designed for that.

For off road use a big diesel takes a lot of beating. I have a few mates with petrol 4WDs, the Cruisers are a OK as are the petrol Nissans. Jeeps appear to be the best, especially if autos. BUT on a back counry trip, where do the extra 20 litre containers of petrol gogo?? You guessed it, on the deck of a 70 series DIESEL flatdeck.

Well you are right they aint designed for speed but try this kind of power in climbing a high sand dune then you'll figure out why 240hp is so great ;)

and Jeeps are fine and one of my friends had a jeep (Auto) but its no match for the 1FZ-FE Twin cam 24Valve specially in long trips on highway with a strong wind blowin in front of you, i remember that the Jeep cant do over 120km/h so i used my Cruiser to be in front of him to cover the strong wind and make his Jeep do 140km/h :D

one great benifit of a diesel engine, its the torgue ;)

Thanks

Fair comment, we dont get a lot of sand here only on the beaches, but you are right you need horsepower to deal to it. Must be hard on fuel driving in the soft stuff with a petrol engine.? Nice pics to. How often do you get stuck and have to get oiut and shift all that sand from underneath??

I dont think they are too concerned with the amount of fuel they use:) That's our gas money they spend playing in them dunes.

If thats the case why not go for the V8?? Can only get that here as a Lexus or in the 100 series VX. The new 200 series would be the pick of the bunch. Sounds as though it may not be available over there. Probably not a seller with gas being so cheap.

we dont get stuck while doing this sand blow we just shif it to 4wd HI after doing it then continue our game :D

and actually about the gas, as you know the middle is the major oil exporting countries specially the gulf so no need to worry about the gas price

second thing TOYOTA made the V8 Diesel only for the Australian market.

thirdly i prefer the legendery inline six for a Cruiser :grinpimp: specially if you are wishing to use your vehicle for over 20 years ;)

Thanks

please .. make me feel bad .. what it's your actual price for gas over there ?

I'm pretty sure that it awesome have 240 HP ( the 1FZ-FE engine are not listed in Toyota web site as 215 HP . ? ) under your foot to play with it .. but I'm not agree to use that power to run over 120 Km/h on public roads ..

The handling and brakings power ( at least have no disc in rear ) are not designed for that in the 70 series .. even have not ABS, air bags or any other security stuff ..

Sure you're right we dont get over 120km/h on public roads but sometimes you need that kind of power even on the highways specially if the wind is blowing hard in front of you, but i agree with you its not safe to get over 140km/h.

and for the gas price am not so sure but i fill my gas tank 90litres with 5kd's (17.2US Dollars)

Not cheap at all ( ya right ! ) In Venezuela it's more cheap :D about 1.50 $/gal .. not bad, here are around 3.40 $/gal little diference uh .. ? :frown:

I love the pictures of those 70 's . I am REALLY jealous !
1 we cant get those in North America
2 we cant afford gas at $1.26 a liter
it is not fair
aaron

Venezuella is the Cheapest Oil Exporting Country in the World

The Cheapest Gas Price is in Venezuella, it is the cheapest country in the world in Gas prices.

I think each Gas & Diesel have an advantage over the other it is just a matter of choice, you have to sacrifice somthing to get another.

:)

To true. You are right King of the Hill, i didnt realise your in line sixes were a turbo petrol motor. Indeed who needs a diesel V8 with petrol prices like that. Petrol here is pretty much $1.50 litre, with about $1 a litre for diesel. With a diesel you have to pay road tax as well, per kilometre so adds up to about the same price as petrol. Get a better mileage out of a diesel though hence the popularity.
We used to get petrol cruisers here, but not sure you could buy one new now. Quite a few older 4 litre petrols around though, but never seen the turbo option here. Would certainley be a nice unit. Nice pics to, glad to see you don't get stuck in that big sand pit.!! Have fun and thanks for the info.
