Im a bit concerned that my seat bets dont lock up. Is this common? I never noticed till today seems really odd. Even under hard braking no lockup.

Varty - Not sure if this is the case, but when I had my belts redone, the plastic cog inside the retractor housing that causes the lock-up was broken into three pieces. The company was able to replace it with a 3D printed part.

Hmmm interesting!!! They both dont lock up so im wondering now.
Take them apart and see what's up.

Ok whats missing here? I can get it to lock up but wont release i have to pop that little vertical arm off . Ive never looked inside a belt before so no idea what to look for.

I put a 79 roll bar with 79 front seat belts in my 68 with 74 bucket seats. It's hard to get them to lock up hitting the brakes and hard to get them to retract when not mounted. But when I'm bouncing around off-road they lock up all the time. I would give that a try and see if they will lock up.

Just seems odd i can get them to lock up pretty easy manually. Im not sure the motion it takes to push that arm on the right up enough to engage teh cogs to lock it. i talked to a buddy here and his 78 lock up with just a quick tug. Ill take it for a drive tomorrow see if i can hammer the brakes enough to lock em up.

So i looked again and the zinc colored bar if i push up on it slightly like 1/8" or so it full locks them up. No matter how hard i yank the belt nothing.

Seatbelt planet redid my '78 belts. Works great now. Retractors were shot

Well i got the driver side to lock up for a brief second while driving and hammering on the brakes. I was ready how perfectly verticle then actually need to be to lock up. Seems odd but ill plumb them tomorrow.
