I'm aiming at buying the LC 200 VX 4.5 TD 286hp/650nm engine. Been told it is designated to Europe.

Can anyone provide me with a link to this car's model code, specifications, and maybe export pricing?

Thanks.

You know, that the 'new' 2012 spec Modell has 272 hp?

286 Hp means you search a used one?

Hi Surfy,

I understand there is a official model and a gray import. Are both the same engine?

Mago,

Personally if I was you I would look at the GCC countries and find one with a import-to-export VCC. That way you wont have to pay duties/taxes twice. If you want I can get you the contact info for the dealer in Oman.

If I was you I would look at the higher spec GXR 4.5 (I purchase 60-80 TLC's a month and never have I come across a VX/VXR 4.5 in the middle east) and it will save you alot of money.

I am soooooo close to buying a G DLX 4.5 and then planning on sending it out to a upholstery shop and having a LX570 style interior put in.

The 2012 Landcruiser 200 europe spec has less power, because of Euro5 and an active diesel particle filter

The "old" one has only Euro4 - and a passive particle filter and a little bit more power (289 PS). With the old one you should also dont get into trouble because of bad fuel.

For the 2012 spec you should take the DPF out, and reprogram the ecu - otherwise your DPF dies all 100`k km. ;)

@ xkennx: You only get in europe and landcruiser who is that well equipped. It is an amazing ride - and is worth the money. AHC (Active Height Control) and adjustable dampers let you ride smooth on the road - and during serius offroading you can level the car up. Also you get a many other nice stuff (watch my other thread i started today).
I drove the less equipped 200 stock Version in Dubai- that ride was - far far away from beening near so good.

If it is good to drive an exotic import car - with possible warranty issues - and "unknown" stuff to local mechanics - thats may be a handicap.
To drive for 20`000km through africa -and bring the car home - is something else than to life outside of the warranty area.

But when you have a 2nd car, can ship`em in a worst case situations, and take it relaxed - then there are nothing against.
