So after many months of dreaming and wanting one of these, I finally found the one I was looking for! I originally wanted the Trail Honcho, but with no roll cage I was sure I would roll it and crack the body. I wanted a specific one, but no hobby shops had them in stock. 6 months, I couldn't get my hands on one! and every place online was sold out or on a back order. I flew down to FL last week and called a hobby shop... guess what? "yup, I just unpacked the one your looking for, I'll hold it for you". I drove down, picked it up and it's now in GA with me :D

This thing is sick. I can't believe how addicting these are (thanks gumby, your build thread didn't help much :flipoff2: )

any ways, here are some pictures...

I want to get some aluminum parts underneath. Some of the OEM stuff is pretty flimsy. I'm going to save up for a few weeks and pick up a winch, some rock lights, I pulled some of the foam out of the tires (simulates airing down), I also want to find a way to shut the LED's upfront off so they aren't draining the battery in broad daylight. I'm looking for a slightly longer shock. My springs were swapped at the store for soft ones, the ride height is adjustable via 2nd coil above main (similar to coil over). The rock sliders are pretty nice, I wouldn't mind picking up some metal ones in the future, as a few climbs and slides have put some groves in them, im shocked they didn't use a harder grade plastic, as my finger nail can mark them.

went out in the woods today and then got it on some rocks. It was a blast. I also ran it in some sand down my the river and boy was it fun!

this part of the forum seems a little slow. I'll keep updating though for anyone checking this area every now and then....

Finally got around to long travel suspension, scale I added around 5MM travel total, which might not sound that big, but it's a lot more stable. I plan on taking the tire off the rim and wrapping some sort of steel cable inside to weight the tires down,

few more from today. Tore front and rear axles apart and cleaned them out, looking into a Novac brushless system, but not sure... I wouldn't mind waterproofing it, but for 200 bucks I can do a ton more.

Old and new shocks.

Nice truck.

Two years ago my wife bought me an Axial RTR and this year she bought me a Tamiya FJ40 body. Hopefully I get a chance soon to paint and install the body onto the Axial frame. I'll start a thread when I get a chance.

i'm amazed at how realistic these things are!! Every detail!

moved the spare to a more realistic location

I painted it flat black today as well, no pictures but since I plan on changing the body out I don't really care about the "dingo" body. I do like the way the current body fits and looks though.

That's awesome! In slow motion that thing looks very realistic! Cool!
