Scion T1814 Help - No Power

Scion T1814 head unit - no power. Installed using the 2 grey plugs and unplugged the harness from the factory amp. Am I missing something? When I reinstall the factory head unit and reconnect the amp everything still works. Help?

The amp is the black box directly behind the glove box?
One connection to unhook?
I do not need to "reconnect" the plug from the amp to anything?

The amp here is galvanized steel and heatsinks on both ends, directly behind the passenger side dash speaker.

Thanks for the clarification - amp unplugged and deck is powered.

Unfortunately now I have extremely weak FM reception. I plugged in the standard OEM antenna plug but reception is horrible. OEM deck had decent reception.

Ideas?
