School Me on distributors for early and late model cruisers (1 Viewer)

Okay i have a 69 fj40 which has points but just recently picked up a 78 small cap electronic distributor. Other than an ignition box off a fj60 what else is needed to swap it in?

Also the vacumn advance on it seems to be frozen up, is there a way to test it?


How exactly does that vacuum advance thing work does it move back the plate on the distributor and advance or retard it based off of vacuum conditions?
