It was not that bad to change, due to the wealth of info out there. Maybe two hours and I didn't use the hoist. The hose was leaking and saturated with coolant. I can't imagine it would have lasted another 5000 miles.
Thanks for the "kick in the butt" to get mine done. I bought a chunk of hose 2 months ago, but with locker conversion homework, I let it slide. I think I better go take care of mine first thing Sat. morning. Thanks for the motivation!!!
5/8 high temp silicone. $6.00 per foot and I bought way too much because i replaced all the heater hoses with it. Turns out none of them are very long. I still have about 3 feet if you need some.
there is a similar short little hose between the water pump and the block on a 460 Ford bigblock...when they look like the pic Christo posted, it's a bad sign...
it's worse when they burst on the freeway on a Sunday at 8pm of Memorial weekend in Pennsylvania...
