I have a H55 for a B series motor. It came to me bolted up behind a 13b-t in a project 40 I purchased a while back. The gentleman I bought it from said it had been rebuilt and had zero miles on it. I believe this to be true as it has new syncros and bearings. The problem with it is while it can shift freely through all gears while in neutral once driving you can not engage second. Upon pulling the top and comparing it with other H55s in the shop my best guess is a spacer is out of place not allowing the 2nd/4th syncro hub to fully engage 2nd gear, but I’m certainly no H55 expert. So this transmission needs to pulled apart and reassembled and i believe should be good to go. Unfortunately I don’t have the time or proper pullers to disassemble and make the necessary repairs.
Good opportunity for some one with the time and the proper skills to get a H55 on the cheap. price is $800
