So much since my last post.
  1. Repowdered all armor except skids
  2. Reinstalled all armor
  3. Replaced starter and all top-end gaskets and connectors as preventive maintenance
  4. Replaced optima battery (bummed it only lasted 4-5 yrs)
  5. Added battery tender
  6. Installed an easy plug-in for the tender and some fender
  7. Repainted hood and fenders (the clearcoat was starting to cloud)

Pictures incoming.

All buttoned up.

Lessons learned, for anyone wanting to do this.

1. 99 locked axle to 2001 LC unlocked axle is a direct drop in the only change is you have one ABS bracket that is not in the same place, you can use a tie wrap or be creative but otherwise direct drop in.

2. I did not want to use the stock locker wiring from the donor because of several dumb limitations, so I purchased the Slee CPU which is a simple on/off switch driven that can be wired right into a locker switch from the donor. Although I've not wired this in place yet.. I'm familiar with how the locker works now because I tested all the terminals when rebuilding the locker and its a relatively simple wiring setup for the locker and the sensor.

Can I ask what happened to the ATRAC, VSC and such? DO you still have all that present and working?

ARB, Dissent, and other miscellaneous back from re-powder coating. The original coating started to lose sheen around the 5-6 year mark. It's all back to pretty.

Removing all these parts to get repowered gave me a chance to refurbish/replace lots of things, like winch wires, the Dissent arm bearings tidy up some wiring, and dried up plastics and connections.

Yes, everything still works I've had no issues with the truck at all. I usually just get bored and start doing preventive maintenance really.

I test the lockers and the ATRAC on my beach runs which I do monthly or so. No issues since installation.

Some pre-reinstallation shots after the hood and fender repainting. The truck looks so much taller without al that weight and trim super happy with the new paint/finish too.

If you had to do it over again would you have gone with those SCS wheels?

I have them on my radar! I love the fact tory silver ones but think the F-5 model looks great!

Yes, I love my F5s and I love the size. IMO they are a perfect mix of offset and allowing meaty tires without rubbing or altering the ride.

Here is the cool part. I added an easy plug outside below the bumper for charge.

When landcrusing is life....

for the battery tenderer do you just keep it all hooked up or do you take it off when you drive it?

Love the build! So many #cruisergoals here!

Any pics of this installed? Have been on fence for ages!
