Hey there everyone! I just thought I’d start a build thread as my first post. So it’s gonna be part intro & part build.

Me: I’m a 26 year old who has worked in the cannabis industry for 8 years. I was raised in mechanic shops and have been in the car community my whole life. I own a 1991 Toyota Soarer & a 2014 Dodge Charger. I’ve been in & out of the 4x4 scene since my teens - but I’m back and in a 1999 land cruiser now.

Build: I bought a 1999 Landcruiser for 8.5k with 133k miles. Interior is mint and the body has rust but it’s not terrible. The 100 series when I took delivery of it.

As sits today:

I’ve removed running boards (brackets were rusted to all hell)

The tires were dry rotted pretty bad when she was dropped off. I went and picked up a set of used Bridgestone k02 tires and slapped them on my stock wheels. (Tire size is 295-75-r16)

The photo ive attached is the day I took delivery.

Big thanks to anyone who reads my post and I’ll be sure to post updates as things happen.

Welcome. 1bad1jz from Reddit?

Welcome to the madness:cheers:. You must be in a good line of work to be able to buy a 100 in your 20s while already owning 2014 Charger.
Enjoy!

Thanks! I just Realized I needed a reliable car after owning my charger so I bought a land cruiser.

My daughter snapped and sent me a pic several months ago on SR79 (she has the eye), your's?

Photo As she sits today.

Tires on stock wheels, no running boards, replaced muffler and resonator with a flow master 40.

Soon to come is a proper audio system update and tint.

Nice, welcome.

Now post pics of your Soarer. I'm waiting to buy back my SC400 from the guy who bought it from me 4 years ago. Gorgeous cars.

I fell in love with the design in high school. When I found out they made a Japanese version with a turbo motor, I had to own one. It was a s*** box when I got it, it’s less of a s*** box now.

What type of audio setup are you thinking of going with?
I would like to play with that big screen Chinese unit I’ve seen on a few forums, unfortunately I have too many audio parts lying around to justify spending that much money on anything audio related.

I have a double din jvc that’s pretty nice and hasn’t been used so I’ll probably use that and then go through speakers and replace them with a quality new equivalent. I’m just wanting speakers that support a little bump. Simple functional & reliable. Which is kinda gonna be my theme across my LC build.

The Soarer is sweet. Were they W58 or R154?

I think you might be the only person I know of outside of my immediate friend group who is familiar with the Sasquatch Gang.
