great, my current setup has a LSD rear differential that the LX470’s came with in the first few years before ATRAC. I am wondering if I want a rear locker do I need to have the open rear diff carrier or is the LSD carrier the same and will accept the ARB locker...

The locker replaces the core of the carrier which is where the LSD or "open" is so it is replaced.
