With winter not too far away ($&%#€*), those of us in the north east have to start thinking about salt protection, bring out the turtle wax guys.

Anyway, has anyone ever tried this new product by Rustoleum: Neverwet?

http://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/neverwet/neverwet-kit/

I have seen the videos since last year when this was just invented and not yet a part of Rostoleum's roster.

It seems that NOTHING sticks to this stuff. I saw the video of a t-shirt being applied to this and then guys pouring ketchup and Mustard and dirt. Nothing stuck.

I was thinking of applying to the wheel wells and under the car to prevent salt from sticking.

I saw the stuff at my local Home Depot.

Any ideas, suggestions? What do you guys think?

Cool Video.. I think i am going to get some of this and try it out at work on different things. I
will keep you posted and give you a update of what i think and the guys at the shop think. Good
Looking!! I would have never know this was out there.

Thanks. I appreciate it.

How much would it cost? how much does the effect last??

seems like a good idea

20 bucks for two cans.

Search "Neverwet" at the Home Depot website. Or on google.

I'm very interested in how that works out for you. I saw them do the iphone and was hooked but have yet to play with any. I'm also wondering how it would work on a windshield???

I think it's a frosted finish. May not work on a windshield.

Negatory on the windshield. From the NeverWet FAQ:

8. Can NeverWet be applied to glass?

Yes, but the glass will no longer be transparent. NeverWet dries to a Flat Frosted Clear color, therefore, it should never be applied to windshields or automobile windows. NeverWet will work on any glass that you want to have superhydrophobic properties, but don’t need to see through.

This would be great to spray in the roof and A-pillar gutters

I agree. The problem I'm reading about it though is that it doesn't last very long at all. I'm sure the formula will improve as the develop it more, but I'm thinking it's not worth it at this point.

Seems kinda cool but in the instruction video it says no contact with soap, detergents, or high pressure water. The things car washes are made of.

I was thinking of Plasti-dipping the truck for the winter? Protection and matted out.

I'm a distributor for Rust-Oleum. Our rep came by a week or two ago and showed me this stuff. It does dry to a frost finish and resembles starch right after you spray it on dark clothing. They said it would only last a few days on the underside of a vehicle.

Oh nuts !!!!

There goes that idea.

There was another one for commercial purposes that's very similar, I can't remember the name though, someone posted it here a few months ago

EDIT: it's called UltraEverDry
