I was wondering if anyone have either fabricated or adopted a Skid Plate to protect Saginaw Power Steering Box which hangs under the front bumper?

I looked online and found several options for different models of the J, but nothing came as FJ40 one.

Many people do off-road their 40-series, so they must of done something...

I don't want to invent the bicycle if it's already exist, you know what I mean. Otherwise I'll just fabricate something.

If you do have a picture, please post it up.

I'm sure some hardcore wheelers might have made up protection for there PS gearboxs, but I cant ever recall seeing it personally. Post up some pics if you find any!

On most rigs I've seen, the front bumpber is designed to provide protection for the steering box. John

I have MAF bumper and it covers only upper portion of the PS box round end. The bottom portion still exposed.

So just add a small section of plate to cover the Saginaw. Just leave room for the pitman arm to rotate fully. Most folks figure taht the leave springs are enough protection down below the box.

I was looking if someone already done something for this case. Then I'd probably copy the design.
Seems that I'd have to design and build my own...
