Hey folks, finally getting around to picking up a snorkel,

So here is the question:

I have an 89 BJ74 with the 13BT

The closest thing Safari snorkels list is an SS73HF which is supposed to be for a 70,73,75, & 78 with a 3B…. Will she fit?
Anyone tried this yet?

Awsome Canuck! did you have to piss around with the air box or was the supplied hardware sufficient? as the 3B takes air from the right side of the truck, but the 13BT takes it from that funny pipe that lays over top the rad...

Supplied hardware was fine though some of the bolts have started rusting already  . The snorkel comes with a cap to cover the stock air opening on the airbox. The hardest part of the install is cutting the hole. A little unnerving putting that big of a hole in the side of your truck!

i have done a number of these into the 7* series and each time i have to cut that hole i start to sweat... worse when the owner is standing there watching.

double, triple check the "pattern" to make sure the holes are where they shoudl be BEFORE drilling. i have had some pretty s***ty patterns in those boxes...

I have a snorkel in my B74. I had the guys in 4Wheel Auto in Edmonton do it while I was getting some suspension work done. You could ask them.

Nick
