So I decided to give my Safari Snorkel some personality by making a TEQ grill. My initial thought was to make it out of steel and powder coat it but felt the TEQ wouldn't pop so I made it out of Stainless Steel and gave it a brush finish. No more plastic and much stronger in case the snorkel gets in a fight with a tree branch.
Since I have what ARB/Safari calls the "New Style" Snorkel Ram ARB 000135600 3.5″ Diameter - I opted to cut out the existing grill with a dremel and drill 2 holes for an easy install.

Field testing: My tester reported back that after his commute to work in the rain last Friday there was no signs of water intrusion which yielded a dry air filter. The stainless steel brushed finish also held up well in the rain.
