    Joshua,

Thought you might like to see the forecast for the Sacramento area. Does the new place have a pool?

Yes, but that's in AZ. If I lived in AZ I would expect that. For comparison, Oakland(~90 miles away from Sac) has an expected high of 80 today. Joshua is moving from Gilroy, about 2.5 hours from Sac, expected high today of 89.

I don't know...housing prices have risen the fastest here in Bakersfield(Out of the US) in the last 2 or 3 years...Smart money would have been to buy a house here, which i did :p

    buy a house there? sure.
    live there? nope ;p

The only time I go through Bakersfield is if I'm driving back from Las Vegas and am looking for an alternative to I-5...and if I have plenty of time to deal with Hwy 99. I don't really know much about it -- just giving you some grief. :D If I'm prejudiced about Bakersfield in any way, it might be due to the fact that my uncle used to live there...he liked it...but then again, he's not the brightest guy around ;)

I think the cental valley of CA is going to experience a ton of growth in the near future -- not that it's necessarily a good thing...but whatever...

The growth is already happening full bore...parts of town are starting to look just like any development you'd see in Orange County...big houses on small lots...all the corp. restaurants(Chilis, Baja Fresh...) and all the traffic has gotten bad in some spots...There are things I love about the Central Valley(it's a conservative town) It's well situated (2 hours from the beach..1 from the mountains..5 from Vegas) and the weather is actually pretty good about 7-8 months out of the year...If you turds North of us in the Valley would stop pumping your smog into the prevailing southern winds then the air would be clean too...

Have driven thru Bakersfield a couple of times in August on the way to summer camp north of Kernville- stopped for lunch - kept going! Too damn hot!. Sacramento ain't much better Doug. I'll take Laguna Niguel and it's nice coastal temperatures thank you very much. And like Eric said - Stay the Hell Away. It's my little slice of paradise. hehehe

That smog is from Fresno...not Sacto :flipoff2:

So much for all that farmland. :(
Maybe we can keep more of our water now :D

As I said...we'll keep all our dihydrogen-monoxide to ourselves :flipoff2:
You can keep the O.C. Too close to L.A. for my tastes. I'm good for 1...maybe 2 trips down there per year -- and that's just so the kids can go to the House of Mouse. If I could leapfrog over the general L.A. area and get to San Diego, I'd be happy. If I had to choose an area around So. Cal to be, it would be somewhere around the S.D. coast.

Damn...I miss living near the ocean...

Hahahaha, I grew up in Morgan Hill/San Martin/GilGarlic, and would not want to live in the central valley. Tully fog or hot as Hades. :flipoff2: :D

I think we only had one fog delay this year..it wasn't bad and it stayed cool really late in to the summer...The heat is back with a vengence...I hate to see my power bill for this month...

I grew up 45 min. outside of Bakersfield in Glennville on the other side of Kernville...just beautiful..one of the best kept secrets in Cali(well it was until now)

You folks should count yourselves blessed. I feel home sick for San Bruno/ Pacifica every day. Maybe I can afford to move back home when I retire :crybaby:
