Looking at a 100 series. Overall, looks clean except for this thing underneath. What is this a part of and how critical is it?

bumpstop for the front control arm. its critical, but that rust isnt goign to hurt anything. i would be checking the frame , crossmembers for any signs of internal rot before i'd worry about that piece
