A buddy is looking at a Rusty 62 here in MS that came down from PA. We are not accustomed to looking at rusty trucks. Anyone have a tech write up on rust repair? General advice?

Rust repair is expensive and always way more extensive than first estimated.

I'd just keep looking...Try here, a drive would be worth your while a digital camera would do wonders, and one of these cruiser heads who lives close would probably go look at it for you.

I think its actually pronounced rust removal. You cant really fix rust. If its really bad you would have to cut out body panels. This might not be a bad option if the rest of the cruiser was good and you
A) really like doing body work
..... or
B) plan on putting on a custom body style that was purpose built anyway.
On the bright side you should really be able to drive down the price do to the rust if you did want to try one of these options
