I have rust in the neck of the Gas Tank filler tube along the top. Is this an indication of a major prob? Can i clean it off and treat the inside of the pipe? If my Tank has rust in it, what should i do?
    Thnx

If the tank has rust in it then you can always buy some gas tank sealer. I am going to be sealing up my gas tank soon and I am going to use the POR kit but there are also other brands of gas tank sealer. I have heard that you can have a radiator shop clean it and seal it for you but that costs more money than just doing it yourself.

If your tank is rusty...and you intend on keeping the truck for a long time...

While you can still get a new tank from Toyota, spend the monies on a new one, and be done with it.

If your filler neck has rust in it, remove it, clean the rust out, and as long as it is not rusted through, you should be fine..

    Good luck!
