This is really a ZZ4 350 question, not a land cruiser question. Not many people here, if any, have that engine in their cruiser.
But for any engine of any size, if the engine gets too hot on hot days, that’s the sign of an inadequate cooling system.
One or all of the following components:
1. Radiator
2. Radiator fan
3. Water pump
4. Head gasket integrity (no blocked passages)
5. Radiator fan shroud
6. Viscous fan clutch when using a mechanical fan
7. Thermostat (a cooler thermostat won’t help in hot weather)
Also engine air-fuel mixture. If the A/F mixture got jacked and is too lean, engine will run hot.

I’m currently tearing into a 5vz 3.4 Toyota that overheated and cracked a head. There was a mismatched fuel injector on the exact cylinder that overheated and cracked the head. Coincidence.. I don’t think so.

Just throwing it out there ... air/fuel is important
