Union is merging everyone into one massive conglomerate as it's defensive strategy...low man gets the axe. I have been there for seven years and am the lowest in seniority. Hopefully the defensive maneuvers are just for show.

    Me at work :D :

    Hi All:

"TreerootCo" - sorry to hear about the possible lay-off! One would think that seven years on the job would be enough senority to be safe!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

On the bright side, a lay-off would give you the time to attack all that rust on your FJ40! ;)

    Best Wishes!

    Alan

Not these days! I got caught up (along with 65 others) in a layoff about 2 yrs. ago. I had done engineering for a local MotorHome company (Foretravel) for 13 yrs., some of the other guys had more years in than me. Oh well!

That sucks, way back in the day I did some contract work and got laid off every 8 months or so until work picked up. Ended up going civil service and haven't looked back.

ok, I feel better now. Nutley reminded me that in the official Office Space rulebook...

Bob Slydell, "No. No, of course not. We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week."

    :D
