Noah got me thinking about my tires with his thread. My 62 has 31's. These tires were on it when I bought it. Stock gears, 4:11. Do I have a little baby overdrive with this set up? No lift yet so they look just right so I assumed it was the stock size but I don't know.

Stock ratio for a US 60 is 3.73. Stock ratio for a US 62 is 4.11.

With 31's you have a slight OD effect. With a 4.11 RE, you could easily go bigger - 33's for instance. Afte that you may be looking at suspension (clearance) issues with tires larger than 33".

I thought I read some place that it was 4:11. I think I read it in some original Toyota sales literature. I wouldn't bet much more than a cup of coffe on it though!

Thanks!

You should have 4.11. Thats why so many 60 owners are looking for a set of 3rd members from a 62. They seem to be a great gearing fit for 33" tires. Your speedo is probably reading a little slow. If stock tires are 29", you should read about 7% slow with 31"s. (29 + 7% = 31.03)

I'm not sure what the stock tire was on a 62.
