Had this carb rebuilt 2 years ago and the rubber boot in the photo below is failing. It has not been run much as we have been focusing on other things. Would this rubber be expected to last longer?
Would it just be the result of poor quality material, or would some other factors lead to this?

I had a boot disintegrate sort of like that not too long after a carb rebuild. Being that part (21699-60200 - replaced by 21699-61010) is (was?) still available, I ordered a few from Toyota at the time.

Ethanol eats up soft carb/fuel parts too
