ok guys,
i searched like ten different headings, no results on most. what was there was not what I am looking for.

Need real time help,
what are the torque specifications for the 22re timing chain guides and tensioner. did not find it in the fsm during the installation discussion or in the back of the book in the torque specification section either.

heard some other people on other un-ideal forums....well lets say "not my first choice for technical info" forum, say 12 foot pounds on the tensioner? idk. i have nothing to go by here. i would rather see it on a piece of paper than what someone says on this other forum.

please help. want to get something done while i wait in vain for toyota to ship me my rockers darn it!!:bang:

I'm sure it's in the FSM. I'm still at work, or I'd look it up for you. Should be in the Engine Mechanical (EM) section, there is an entire procedure in there devoted to the timing chain replacement.

i know. thats what i am looking at. it starts off with putting the cam sprocket on then the chain with the camshaft sproket. completely neglects the tensioner and timing guides completely as far as i can tell. unless its in a different section. i am looking at EM section under timing chain install.

i found a toyota document that says 16 ft lb for the damper but its not in my fsm. can anyone confirm?

If you haven't already found it, my Mitchell program says 16 on the damper and 14 on the tensioner.

thanks. thats what i went with. good to know that someone else can confirm it.

i like the list you posted there. maybe we should get someone to sticky that somewhere? that would be a nice FAQ topic if you ask me. just a list of torque values, especially the uncommon ones that dont always appear in the manual.
