Well, I just stopped for gas on the outskirts of town and turned into the gas station and have a wicked grinding clicking. My first thoughts are spider gears and rear differetial.
Who close to the Denver area does this kind of stuff and in a hurry? I realize im probably sitting till Monday but i could really use some direction.

Thanks!

I wonder if my dif lock is stuck on, other than it will go through a turn, just very clunky but not really locked up. I don't see hoa i could have missed it all the way out here but i had to lock the diff to do wheel bearings a week plus ago. With the transmission in neutral, the t case in neutral, one wheel off the ground, i cant turn it beyond the slop in the driveline

Hold that, now i can turn it but lots of drag from the VC I assume? I tried locking it in the parking lot im in and it just flashed. Maybe it was half assed locked and now not? I don't usually have luck like that but im gonna test drive.

I think a partially lock dif is it. Jacked up both sides, wheel bearings good. Quite a bit of total driveline slop but like its always had. Tight turns are quiet now. I'm gonna keep rolling, wish me luck. Still, if anyone has shop suggestions let me know. I'm heading up I 70 so goind Slee's direction for a bit. If all goes well, im headed for Brekenridge area.

If you have tools/rtv you can remove the cover on the rear housing that holds the switch for the diff lock light. You can verify the position of the diff lock collar through the hole.

Bill @ western driveline (he's in aurora, on the east side). I called all over and he had the most reasonable prices and recommended by shops over here on the west side. Of course, you can go the slee or robbie route as well.

hopefully all works out ok.

Will do that when i find a place to stop for a while, thanks!

Slee of course knows the ins and outs, but they are usually by appointment. But I hear they help out visitors pretty quick.

I will second Bill at Western Driveline. And if you're there on Monday, send me a PM. I work nearby there.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still headed south, fingers crossed. It sure seems like it is something with the locker, cause it turns smooth now. @mod5csi i will definitely give a shout if it comes to that.
