If you'd asked me a few weeks ago...Which are longer? I forgot to write on the baggies. I assume the head bolts are longer....
Thanks!
You ALWAYS measure a bolt from the bottom of the head to the tip (working area)thanks. I measured the headbolts and they were just over 4.25 from top of the head to bolt end. The main bearing bolts are the shorter ones.
as Ed McMann would say to Johnny. You Are Correct Sir. That said. I think we're OK because I was naughty and measured from bolt top to end of threads (aka, total length, and not "working area")You ALWAYS measure a bolt from the bottom of the head to the tip (working area)
Yes, you are correct. I was just trying to figure out which are longer, the main bearing cap bolts or the head bolts. I had already installed the main bolts, and I went out to double check the head bolts since I was given a measurement. Since the mains are shorter, and the length ended up being what was reported, I had the info I needed. I noticed the odd measurement, but I had my answer...You ALWAYS measure a bolt from the bottom of the head to the tip (working area)
