It seems that they get into the car (I'm not sure how) and then hook up something akin to tech stream, program their keys and disable yours. The first night they seemed to only be able to disable mine, with pretty much zero disruption to the car. The next night they stole it, and when I found it, there was some dash disassembly, which looks minor at first glance. The police, the towing company, and the locksmith said that there has been a ton of Lexus/Toyota theft lately because people have discovered it isn't difficult.
My problem is that I brought a bunch of stuff and my dog up here in the truck, so flying home isn't a great option, unless Executive Jet does a groupon. Rental agencies are dried up for some reason. I'm also hoping they can band-aid my truck well enough for me to get it home, saving me an additional round trip to Montreal.
