Roof gutters (1 Viewer)

Anyone know how the roof gutters are installed on oem trucks? I have rust near it and am going to grind it with a wire wheel and hit the gutters too. Is it just thick paint or epoxy in them? Mine is painted white and not chrome/metal any hazards i should know of with stripping the paint and rust?

Check the FAQ and do a search. There is lots of info there. There is a body seam in the gutters. Auto caulk was used and is likely in need of replacement.

Bottom line, it seems that the seam filler gets brittle and cracks. I was at my local body shop supply place and they had some 3M filler that looked like it would do the trick.

My question is the section of gutter that runs alongside the windshield. Pretty tight there and while I think getting the old filler out is doable, getting new filler looks to be a pain.

I used seam sealer taper from 3M.. I liked how it went down and the paint seems to be adhering to it very well so far.
