Black/Tan/Gold Edition

The good:
-125k original miles.
-Locked
-Clean Title
-1 Owner
-Rust Free

The Rough:
-CEL with unknown codes
-“valve chatter”
-1 accident to the rear. Airbags didn’t deploy and is documented. Not sure about the VINs.
-Paint is pretty poor
-Fender flare duct taped to the body.
- Drivers seat is shot.
-No idea on maintenance. MyToyota and Carfax is limited on info.
-Trade In so no pass down from the owner.

Out the door for $4,400. Picking it up next week. Let’s see what happens.

If the engine is messed up, perfect candidate for an ls or diesel swap. Worst case, part it out, but it looks pretty decent, esp for 4k and low miles

Low miles are hard finds. Doesn't look like you rolled snake eyes

Where'd you snag that for 4K? that seems like a bitchin deal if its not a rust bucket or has had 0 maintenance done.
Random dealership in Alabama. I’ve been looking for an 80 for my dad, so I had feelers our. Don’t think either party understood what they had.

Ride or die with the 1FZ

A good deal, have you verfied the mileage?

Everything matches up on Carfax

“valve chatter”

I thought my 1FZ was literally coming apart shortly after I purchased it, but it was just accessory belt idler bearings (AC and Alternator).

Good luck - I look forwared to your "discovery" posts after picking it up.

That’s encouraging bc I got a quick FaceTime in with the engine running.

Let’s just say it sounded ... less than ideal.

Sounds like it has potential - 125K is low miles anymore, heck anything under 200K is still just 10K/annually.

Alot of people have paid $4K for crap, and if the e-lock actuators are still right & tight thats ~15% of purchase price right there.
