I just completed a 1700+ mile trip and the only thing I did was pull the plugs to recheck the torque since they were last done by the previous owner. Good thing I did because 1 or 2 were loose and the rest well below acceptable torque.

The truck did very well, even with a motorcycle anchored to the rear. Never missed a beat and averaged 15.5 mpg, even with most of the trip climbing 4-6 % grades.

Like others have said, if it's been running well, no reason to start throwing parts at it. Do what ever maintenance is due and have fun.

I would just check my oil and make sure coolant and other fluid levels are okay, make sure tires are in good shape and tire pressure correct. Before you leave see if anything is leaking oil or coolant or under the car. Make sure your battery is good shape not losing charge fast.

During road trip, I would pop open the hood to see if fluid levels are okay and check tire pressure over the trip.

I would have backup water and food in the car in case you get stranded. But in those situations if you have a cell phone with signal you should be okay.

what speeds were you holding?

You could leave the US for a bit and spend some time in the Republic of Molossia!

If possible you can go via 4. Whole area around Arnold and Boards Crossing is cool and has a lot of FS roads.
