So I put some WD40 on my door locks the other day, and now my passenger door flies open / unlocks almost every minute while driving.

I took the door panel off and and checked the lock, looks like I can easily turn it with a plier or a screwdriver even when locked. Is this a sign of a worn door lock? A common thing for FJ40s?

Is there an easy fix or should I replace the whole thing?

How is your striker adjustment? I'd look there first.

If that is adjusted well, I'd suspect something in the lock cylinder is going. @ToyotaMatt should be able to make you a correctly keyed lock I would think.

Thanks - the striker (thx for helping me out witht the right word!) adjustment looks fine, but am I supposed to be able to just turn it relatively easily with a plier tool? I would assume if it's locked I shouldn't be able to?

Good read here:
