ride quality of a 70 vs 60

Just want to hear from all of you that have owned both how the ride quality of a 70 vs a 60 is like? Also, with the lighter 70 diesel 3b is the gearing the same or taller gears in the 70? Would be nice if my 60 with its 3b had more power and thus, taller gears so would not have o shift so often

If you want soft ride, a 60, but if yo want extreme ride, a 70.

the 70 isn't lighter than a 60, my hzj79 is5600 pounds.

But the longer wheelbase will almost always give you a nicer ride if the suspension is good. My 79 with a load is nicer than most 60's though.

the rear springs are the same for the 70 and the 60 (someone correct me if i am wrong), the front on the 70 is shorter so a git stiffer.

BJ70 JDM or CDM? gearign of the CDM is 3.7 most of the JDMs are 4.11 for botht he 70 and the 60 series.

4.11 will give you better off the line/crawl but 3.7 is better for highway performance.

Rear springs on 60's and 70's are the same length (for older ones anyways) But a older 70 has approximately 2'' longer front springs. Set higher than a 60 though so ride is probably the same if not stiffer since they are more agricultural than a 60 series.

Stock the 60 is better, put some good shocks and springs on the 70 and it will be better, put some decent shocks and springs on the 60 then it will be better. Not that much difference really but the 60 feels a bit nicer in the drivers seat due to nicer dash, more space etc and as hulsty said 70s are a bit agricultural but you can still get them to ride nice.
Another solution is to get the shorter gearing the get taller tyres, my 71 rides much better on 35's than it does on 31's.

the spring rates changed on the 60 series in 1987, it dropped 10% to give a more passenger car ride...
