This was posted on the Patrol4x4 forum in the Canadian section and on Delica.ca. I've also posted it up on IVOAC.

Hello All Stations, Mini-Meet for all vehicles, delicas, pajero, jdm, rhd, lhd, and anyone is who is just a nice person. We havent had a meet in ages. Friday 7May 2010 Coquitlam IKEA. North East Corner. Cheap Fish and Chips on the menu upstairs (i thinnk its $2.99 for 2 fish pcs and chips). Cheers, Christine..

edit: PS: Meeting time is 6 to 8pm. I had the time in the subject line but got several pm's as it wasnt in the message. See everyone there. c.

Doesn't matter if you don't have a RHD. All are welcome.

Pssst... there tends to be a much better girl ratio in the Deli crowd. :meh: Just saying... Not that would influence the decision of anyone in the club. :D

dang!

I like fish and chip and like girls even more:D and would like to come but have to watch the nucks. If they loose tonight then theres no way theyre coming back 3 games to 1.
I promise to attend the next meeting though.
thx

I have 3 friends with 80 series RHD, 1 friend with a Patrol and 2 friends with delicas also, i will tell them.

That means I have 6 friends altogether!

There weren't any Cruisers there tonight. Just 2 Safaris, a couple Pajeros and a bunch of Delicas with tons of single beautiful women. No one from the RHD sports car crowd showed up.

One monster Delica had most of the attention. That thing will never see the inside of a normal garage. Looked interesting but not very trail practical. I was amazed it passed the OPI.

Was that the same Delica that rolled through Cruiser days a couple of years ago that thing was sweet

Steve Jubb, a buddy who happens to be a diesel mechanic!
he borught it in through Japanoid about two years ago. Love the head room in his beast!

Who do you know who has a Patrol? They are still quite rare in Canada. Most importers have stopped bringing them in because they just don't sell well.

Nope. This one is a newly imported rig. Apparently this monster also has a turbo and pump set-up that allows the driver to electronically adjust boost and fuel from inside the cab. I'd think it would be damn awkward to get into. You'd have to use the tire as the step-up for any women.

This thread is useless without pictures of the hot women.

Jeff, have I ever lied to you about women??? You're just going to have to use your imagination on this one. :D

The head room makes them good for camping in. But there is also a down side. That extra metal on the front is a rock and bug magnet - more than the window. Its also bloody noisy when you hit bigger bugs. If I were to have the opportunity, I would take a low roof one over the high roof.

I hope there's another one down the road, it would be nice to meet like minded people, and see what's going on with what we can do about the rhd bans going on in qubec and alberta.

I agree. These informal meets are the best way to mobilize people. We should probably be looking at a more public place - like Stanley Park, Granville Island, etc.- to also educate the public. Ikea is a great place for most people but the SE corner of their lot doesn't exactly have a lot of joe public going by

As the IVOAC liaison for the club, I'll be reporting on recent developments at the meeting tonight.

Putting the pieces of the puzzle together, I believe I just spoke with your friend Steve. Is he a marine diesel mechanic? Recently did OME springs and shocks on his Safari. He likes fly fishing and his folks live out near Hope? He's got a broken leg? If so, he's giving me his old 2" lift springs to put on my wife's Safari. I'll be seeing him tomorrow. Maybe you should invite him to a CC meeting.

Maybe then we should change the club name to Coastal Safari's, we're being overwhelmed

Don't worry, most people on the street still refer to my Safari as a Land Cruiser or even stranger - a Jeep.

BTW, I hear the True North Toyota Land Cruiser have a guy now coming to their meetings who has 5 Safaris. I think he is sneaking in as a liaison for IVOAC. :censor: Now that's .
