REVERSE LED’s

I recently replaced my rear OEM bumper with Dissent aluminum bumper and was looking for some reverse LED’s that matched the ones on Dissent. Offered to buy them from @FullyLitLED but he asked if I would review the lights in exchange for a free product. So, here it is…

Installation process is pretty simple, so I won’t be covering it. If you guys run into an issue, there are quite a few videos on YouTube for reference. Or post any questions here and I’ll be happy to answer them.
LED’s didn’t come in any special fancy packaging but seems to be well made. Take a look at this picture of the LED next to the OEM reverse halogen bulb.

The color temperature was a pretty good match to the reverse LED on Dissent bumper and it was bright too. Really hard to capture the true color in pictures with all the glare but I took a few comparing OEM to LED by @FullyLitLED.

Side by side comparison: LED on driver side and OEM on passenger side

Extremely satisfied with the final result. Pictures don’t do justice…both the LED’s have same color temperature and are plenty bright. Have had them for couple of weeks now and am pleased with the LED’s.

Interior LED Kit

Kit includes map lights, puddle lights, middle row dome lights and cargo area light. I also received an extra adapter and a LED strip, which came in handy later on.
Installation is pretty simple but I would recommend you watch couple of videos on YouTube before you start on it. I think there’s a video that shows you remove the entire dome housing to replace the halogen bulbs with LED’s but you don’t have to do that. Just use a plastic trim removal tool and pry the lens off. Make sure to insert the tool by the dashed lines (there are 2-4 on each lens) and slowly pry it open. Try to be gentle and not apply brute force as the lens might break.

I’m sure you all agree how abysmal the OEM interior lights are (exterior as well!). I really liked the 200 interior LED kit I purchased from @FullyLitLED, so was excited to have my 100 series interior lights replaced as well. Installation went smooth except for the middle row dome side lights. On one side, only half the LED’s on the strip were turning on and the other side LED strip was functioning intermittently. Reached out to @FullyLitLED and he suggested I swap out the strip in one and the adapter in the other. I was able to use the extras that were included to fix the issue. I’m not sure if all kits will have extras included but @FullyLitLED will make sure you’re happy with the product. The other problem I ran into was that after a week or so, the LED strips came loose and that is because I tried to position them exactly in the middle and there wasn’t enough plastic on the back to stick on to.

Positioned them like so and they’re good now but the adapter is now visible thru the clear lens slot. A small compromise for the BRIGHT light.

Here’s the final result. Super bright. Color temperature is pretty even. Most importantly, I can see/read now without squinting!

Uploaded the interior kit review in post #2 above. Let me know if there are any questions and I’d be happy to help.
@FullyLitLED Thanks for your customer service and patience while I tested the product for about a month or so before writing this review.

A Babolet bag in an LX Hundy in 2021. I thought I'd seen it all, and now this gem!

It reminds me of when Clarkson muttered something about crushing the bones of a squash opponent when reviewing a 997.1 911 TT

@LCT - Three Questions:

  • What is the overall light temp output IRL (blueish, white, warm white, etc. sometimes cameras throw color temp off)?
  • The pictures look like the rear cargo area light may be a different color that the others, is this true?
  • Any updates after 4-months of usage?

I would say the color is pure white and it’s consistent across the board.

Rear cargo area light has more LED’s/output, hence it looks different color in the picture.

One of the Dome LED is partially dead, meaning about half of the individual LED’s on that dome LED light don’t turn ON.

I really like the reverse bulb offered here, as there are LEDs radially around the body which should improve the light dispersion in the OEM reflector housing.

I had aftermarket bulb that was only a LED behind a lens element and it had a really sharp cut off.
