Ok, I’ve been searching for a place on mud to place a P-car and LC thread and think Clubhouse under Group Clubhouse would be the best venue. However can’t seem to open a new thread there.

I sent an e-mail to mud to see how to preceded, and as soon as I figure it out...I’ll invite all to join.

Well this is the answer I got from the mud admin....

Categories are Admin set, not user set. I'm not going to open a Clubhouse section for that.

Setting up specific thread
I would like to set up a specific thread for Land Cruiser owners that also own Porsches. I thought that Clubhouse would be a correct venue but can’t seem to open a new category.

How do I do that?

I’m a bit late to this thread, another Porsche/Cruiser nut here. I’ve only owned and still do, an 83 911 SC, while having owned many Cruisers of various flavors. LandCruisers were/still are a constant in my life, it took a while to actually get into a Porsche.
I was that kid that endlessly yammered on about sports cars performance specs, spent countless hours looking through Car & Driver, Road & Track and Automobile magazines, drawing pictures of sports cars and building plastic model kits. At some point in early-ish childhood my mother knitted me a wool hat with a red 911 on it; I still kick my self for not framing it.
In my early twenties I parked cars at a Casino and fortunately had the chance to park a lot of Porsche products, while I didn’t get to really drive them that far I could still appreciate the ergonomics and build quality.
I eventually worked at a restoration shop for eight years starting back in 2005. We always got stuck working on British stuff like MG TCs, MGAs, Triumphs, Austin Healeys etc. I eventually got the chance to replace the floor pan and do a ton of other metal work on a very battered up 63 356 Coupe. That 356 (and a couple more after it) reinforced my appreciation of Porsche products massively, it was SO much more solid, better engineered and vastly better built than any of the British or American cars of similar vintage. Where a MG or Austin Healey may have five spot welds securing a part, the Porsche would have at least twenty. In general working (body work specifically) on the Porsche was much easier, felt like it was logically designed and built especially compared to the British stuff. No offense to British automobile fans but after working on a bunch of them (mostly 30s through late 70s era cars) I walked away with quite a negative view of them.
I was able to finally get my hands on a guards red 83 911 in the fall of 2013 and have enjoyed every minute of ownership since then. That said I regularly try and figure out how to pick up another or two P cars, I’d love a 911 turbo or a 4S and I’ve always liked the 944 turbo/951.
Enough of my rambling here are a few recent pics.
