Wow. Those look nice. More info? Did you hand paint the letters? What was the heat gun for?
 
Nice job on the flap restoration!

A little tip. When painting raised lettering like this, you can save some time by masking off surrounding areas and lightly rolling the paint onto the letters using a small nap or foam roller with minimal pressure and don't load up the roller with paint. Two light coats is better than one runny one.
 
IIRC some models came with the raised white lettering. My '94 did not. It's a personal choice - I prefer the blacked out lettering. OP likes them white. :)
 
Very slick! I might need to do this as well since my new front flaps are so much darker than the old rear pieces. Love the white lettering too! I believe FJ60s had white lettering.
 
When I bought my 80 I trimmed the rear flaps right below the lettering. Tore them loose the first time I wheeled it. Took them off the next day!
