(Resolved) Exterior Window Molding Removal Question

I am attempting to remove my drivers door exterior molding so I can install a new black plastic b pillar cover (prior one was damaged). Has anyone removed this window molding before? Or loosened it enough to simply pull it away from the door? I only need about 3/8" space to clear my plastic piece.

I assumed it was the same as the tundra or seqouia part, but after watching several videos the fastening mechanism seems to be different.

I was able to solve this myself. I ended up using tape on a small flat head screwdriver and had to press the tab (pictured) towards the door while prying upwards. This allowed me to move the trim from the slot with just enough room to get my B pillar through and installed. See images below for details and final product.
