Did you call some injection shops in Cowtown and give them the part numbers posted here?

I did try one shop, but they were not able to help me with the part #'s... I am going to try more, but I have to look them up yet... it also doesn't help that I sound like an idiot on the phone because I am not that familiar with what I am asking for..

O.K. Got the parts Yesturday... .. thanks rosco.... I'll get them in asap, and let you know how things go.. thanks again, rosco

So much for airmail. In 16 days they must have island hopped across the Pacific in a Tiger Moth:D

LOL

okay, i did my first on on a LJ78, super easy but didn't cure the leak...this thing is pissing out fuel and i can not find the leak. i checked the fuel in, cold start, inserted the block off plate and it is coming from what appears to be the gasket between the top housing and the pump... i just can't picture it being that but i can't seem t find the leak anywhere else...

used to be just when the engine was cold and a few months later it is just a steady drip...

any ideas woudl be appreciated.

cheers

wayne-

I am facing the same syndrome.

I believe the new diesel here (US) is causing the issues I have.

so far:

-replaced the ACSD with blank and new o ring.
...I was having a leak at the ACSD axle. Icky had the same issue and replaced his HDT ACSD with a plate.

-replaced the 3 copper fuel inlet washers.

-now, it looks like the pump top gasket is leaking and that is next on list....
22774-54270 fits all models

exactly, i like to start cheap and easy and work from there...
i could have sworn it ws the ACSD but after replacing the fuel was coming out higher up... i didn't think paper would be bothered by low sulfer...

sheesh, i am not looking forward to that job. HAC...
nice thing is it is only 4 allen screws but you have to remove everything to get to them...

i wonder if anyone makes a "stop leak" for diesel...<semi serious>

Wayne,

If I drive over can you give me a hand with puttiing the blanking plate on mine!!

thanks,

sure, we can tackle it next week...
<can't bring Pepsi though, the boss has put a stop to that so ... a couple bags of Pepper/lime chips will do...>

Pepper/lime chips it is! !! !! I'll call you early in the week!!

monday afternoon will work nicely...unless i start getting my wheeling rig ready then it will be later...

O.K. it's done!!

Thanks to Wayne we we able to get it finished in about 40min. Of course there was a lot of Bull shooting in that time too..!!

Also when i say we I mean Wayne (I watched Wayne worked)

First thing I noticed was that the truck held it's idle WAY better... .. .. I am not sure if this will solve my cold running issues, and I will probably have to wait until next winter to really find out, but till then I am happy with removing the ACSD.

Also thanks to ROSCO who mailed me the parts from OZ.. .. ..

We ended up using the same Hex bolts that the ACSD was being held in with.. . the plate was the same thinkness as the ACSD and the new hex bolts bottomed out before even touching the plate, so we had no choice really!!

Thanks again to Wayne (Crushers) and Rosco for the help and the parts!!

All the best!!

I sent you 2 sets of screws, were they both too long? I thought the shorter ones I sent were the same as my blanking plate screws o the rear of the 1HZ PUMP

Glad to help and good to see you back on the road;)

yep, even the short ones bottomed out before the plate even touched the pump...
the stock bolts worked perfect...

i have to say you did great in supplying that part. no screwing around, just bolt and go...

BTW, removing the 2 big springs makes the job much easier.

Im going to make up a few more kits if possible for those that want them.
It will be limited to the blanking plate supply though.

Crushers I have your chips!!

Rosco that sounds like an awesome idea to make a few kits up!!

It sure would, but I found no easy way to remove the big springs. What's your trick to getting those springs off?

remove the 12 mm nnut and slide off...
getting the 12mm to let loose is the fun part...

Yep, but it wasn't even that hard!! one good crack got her done!!

Oh, and by the way my truck still runs like poo.. I am going to try that pusher pump, so expect a call from me next week Wayne!! Pizza!!
