The steering wheel on my 2000 LX470 needs to be replaced. The finish on the wood is chipping all over the place. I am considering replacing it with one of these two steering wheels from ebay. One is $200 and the other is $300. Seems like I have read good things about these Taiwanese steering wheels, but I am not sure which one people are referring to. Does anyone know if one is substantially better than the other?

Appreciate any help.

your first link is the one i got. its an amazing replacement. should last. the molded rubber on one spoke needed some trimming to get the clamshell to fit right. other than that money well spent.

Thanks for the reply. Seems like people have been happy with that one.

I purchased the first link as well- great fit and pretty solid match. I also bought trim for the dash from ebay, can't remember the seller but it matches the wheel almost identically.

Does anyone know where to source one in "TAN w LIGHTER" wood? I searched high & low for the 97-02 steering wheels in lighter color codes. All that I see some to be the darker versions. Lots to choose from if I had a year model 2003 & earlier.

I took a chance and bought this one. It’s very different than in the seller’s photos. The wood is lighter in color and the leather is perforated. The wood isn’t a perfect match but it’s really close.

Have you considered refinishing? It was not too hard using a two part epoxy clear finish kit from Home Depot, and I've been very happy with the result over the past year of using it. I quite enjoyed doing it too. Here's a link to the post about it.

Mine was pretty bad. It was chipping all over and not just cracking like yours.

I just fitted the “first link” (URL below) and it is excellent.
As a new LC owner (2000 Model 100 with 183k miles) but after 15 years of Range Rover ownership,
it was just great to be able to get an excellent product for a good price that fitted (albeit with a little adjustment).

I love my ebay wheel, had it almost 2 years and its held up great to a ton of hard wheeling. Mine has a much darker wood color that goes better with my "wood" stickers around my 2000 LC.

I love wood wheels....no idea why they just the best though. The heated, wood steering wheel in my LS is one of my favorite parts about the car.
