So today I have been for a WOF and have learned a few things about my FJ40 ...
(For those who don't know, a WOF is a Warrant Of Fitness, down here in New Zealand, and is a legal requirement for a vehicle to be used on the road - even trailers have them).
I need LOTS of repairs and would appreciate the help of ye goode folk who have been down this road afore me and know of the best suppliers!
I'd rather source the parts in NZ but am aware that may not be possible and I may have to consider supply and shipping from the US (where you seem to have a wealth of old parts and fabricators of after-market parts)!
first part I'm looking for:
- rear-perch for stock leaf-springs on front passenger side. For us Kiwis, that's the left hand side of the car as you view it from sitting in the cab - because we drive on the right side of the road ... errr ... which is actually the LEFT side of the road ... oh, you know what I mean ;oP
I've attached photos (or tried to - fingers crossed it all works). Hopefully you can see where the perch has split. It also looks like someone has already previously tried a shoddy welding repair of other cracks in the side of the perch.
Thanks in advance to anyone who's able to help.
Cheers
