I am trying to decide between the Spector Premium Carpet set for my FJ60 or the molded carpet set Spector or Cool Cruisers sells. The molded carpet sets are about $300 cheaper. Thoughts? I had a CCOT set in my old FJ40 that held up fine, but that vehicle saw less use than my new FJ60 will see.

My cruiser came with a new uninstalled premium SOR kit. I installed it day one upon getting my cruiser. I love it! Quality is top notch! Fit is pretty good for an aftermarket kit. It is not factory but not bad. I've heard some complain about the fit, but I was happy. It falls just a little short on the edges but is mostly covered by the door trim etc.. Also bunches up a bit around the seat rails. All these places are not seen or noticed by your passengers, and cannot be seen without looking. I know they are there but I am very particular. I know it's expensive, but worth it. Remember, you get what you pay for!
Worth it to make your Cruiser look and smell like new!! Yo'll be glad you did :)

I was thinking of going this route as well...but now I'm leaning towards buying marine grade carpet and using my original as a template. I'm thinking for the trans hump might have to do two separate pieces and sew together (access to an industrial machine)

Requested some samples from this place. Do think I'll get the SOR wheel covers...really like the look of those.

WHG423, where did you get those floor mats. Look pretty stout. No rear speakers?!?!?!

I've got JT Outfitters carpet. Its nice and has a good fit except it took them FOREVER to get it to me.

X2 on the floor mats please! Those look really nice and are exactly what i've been looking for.

I got them at the local Oriley's auto parts store. They looked real nice and I've been real happy with them. Not sure the brand, but I will look when I get home. They are cut to fit mats. You can trim the flexible pieces on the sides as needed to get the perfect fit. Came with front and rear for like $35! A steal if you ask me. Quality is nice too! These are real heavy and stay in place nicely.

Any pics? I have been looking at the JT carpet set too but didnt know how it would look installed.

I'll take some more pics when I get home this evening.

All my cruiser have the Grateful Dead "Steal Your Face" window sticker on them as all cruisers should! Where did you get yours, is that a magnetic mount? I want one or four.

Yes it's a magnet. Can't remember where I got it, had it for years. I also have a SYF sticker on the back as with my other cars. It's even inked on my back :)

Mats are called Floor Armor. Took a few pics of them and some close-ups of the carpet for those asking.

I just went out and took these. Don't mind all the dirt and garbage.

I got the JT Outfitters carpet for the rear and tail gate on my FJ62. Ditto on the time it took. They told me they are constructed when they get an order so it takes a while. I was real happy with the fit for the cargo area, however the tail gate carpet was too short. I ended up cutting a new piece of fiber board, but then it was too thick for the OEM fasteners. So it is sitting on the bench collecting dust. Maybe it can be stretched. Cool Stealie.

I bought and installed a new carpet set from CCOT. I wasn't very impressed. It was moulded for the early 60's with the tall humps instead of legs for the front seats. That's good or bad depending on the model year of your Cruiser. The color was an OK match but is more salt and pepper grey without the blue hints of OEM. The fit was poor and it was a little small, leaving gaps here and there despite very careful fitting. It's also very thin and not durable. If you're curious, pictures are in my 'Frankie' thread.

I have not found a good option for replacement carpets anywhere. OEM is NLA and was prohibitively expensive even when it was.

I had my tailgate carpet rebound onto a sheet of thick plastic patterned off the tattered OEM board. The plastic had come off a roll and had a definate curve that I couldn't remove even with heat. It kept the Christmas tree fasteners from engaging and the carpet wouldn't stay on the tailgate. The parts guy at my local Toyota is awesome and he went digging into their stock of new style panel fasteneners. The yellow trees he came back with are longer and stick like crazy. I highly recommend them for the tailgate. They might be TOO good for the side panels as I don't think you could get them loose without damaging the more delicate panels. I don't have a part number but here is a picture. They are one piece instead of the original two piece.

Did you decide to go this route? If so I'd like to see some pics please.

I'll get some shots this weekend...I just got around starting it...have the cargo area done....middle shouldn't be tough...the front still has me nervous. The closed cell foam / MLV part of the process has gone well.

Here's the shot I have of the back section...only part I have done. Probably not going to keep it the original wheel well covers..but just put it on for now. (driver's side one was just dropped on top of the carpet...makes the cut look off, but it came out exceptionally well. The material is very easy to cut. Its a HUGE upgrade over the old stock carpet (would be even when the OEM carpet was brand new). hopefully the passenger sections will go as well.

I added this rubber cut to fit mat. Sorry it's dirty but I wouldn't go back to carpet if you paid me. I got it from a company in Oregon and cut it to fit. Absolutely love it.
Having trouble adding pic.
