I am doing some routine body work on Sancho and want to take out the rear window. I dont' want to damage the window or the gasket. Anyone done this?

I cut mine out, but I have the glass if you drop one of yours! You are tough to get ahold of!

Sorry for the unavailability. PM me your number I'll call you. YOur first message was not clear on my machine. And while you can call me at work I'm at my desk about 10% of the time.
Chris
Thanks for the glass offer. I might need it.

To do it properly you need a "hook tool" & a plastic "bone". Take the stupid fake chrome lock strip out of the gasket 1st, being careful not to damage any of the pieces. Then use the bone or the hook to separate the glass from the gasket, then the gasket from the body. Work the gasket aside while you pry one of the corners of the glass out while pushing it out from the inside, then work the rest of the glass past the lip of the gasket until you can pull the glass out.

Re-installing the glass uses the "rope trick" which I've described elsewhere.

Or you could just pop the glass with an automatic centerpunch & buy FJnotCJ's piece.
