Removing Rear Spoiler???

I know this thread is old. I just removed my rear spoiler to change the bolts out and reseal the third light with butyl tape. Make sure you spray these hex bolts with some CRC knocker loose or PB blaster a day before to get them out. I replaced all the bolts with alluminum and I might drill out the rivet for stainless steel ones.
I also want to mention you can actually remove the tail light without removing the spoiler (The black spoiler). You just need to heat the seal up with a heat gun or blow dryer and just pry it off with some plastic trim tools.

If you remove the OEM deflector, can you install a later year (any year) spoiler on it? Or need to redrill?
