I'll just add to the info here that without this panel plugged in the SAT radio will not work. Took me a while to figure out what my problem was while I was installing my ham radio and had things half way put together.

Was the connection for the existing power point soldered or were there connectors. If connectors what kind were there. I have a couple of power plugs ordered and want to make sure I know how to wire them

For my '99 LX, the wiring was soldered at the power outlet that lives inside center console.

The existing 12 volt sockets (power outlets) use a molded connector.... however when you pull that connection apart you'll be able to use a female disconnect or a stackable terminal adapter (you you show above).

What I found in my '99 LX, the wiring was soldered at the power outlet that lives inside center console.

Here is the stone color one I used. I think the tan one is a -A2. Call and ask when you order.
All the sites I see say this doesn’t fit my 2005 LX. Which year is yours? I can’t seem to find this cooler cover part for 2005. Thanks!

The screen up front said it couldn't detect the dvd player, so I assume the rear audio control has to remain plugged in for it all to work.

Anyway, I just tucked the rear audio control box underneath, between the metal plate and the plastic heater ducts. Here's a pic of the final install using oem toyota parts. I just spliced into the power outlet in the bottom of the center console storage box. Only going to be used by the kids to charge their phones, ipads, etc. on trips.

I realize this is old, but that’s awesome! Makes me wanna do the same! Unfortunately, I have around ZERO electrical engineering knowledge or experience.

I realize this is super old but I dug around on iH8mud for a while recently and couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere. I went ahead and ordered a cover for my 2004 despite websites saying the part was not compatible; I can confirm that 55549-60030 does work on a 2004 LX470 (and presumably later years as well).
