Body removal of 1978 FJ40. Can anyone comment on the step wise procedure to remove tub, cowl fenders in prep for sandblasting and re painting. Top and doors off already.

It is probably easier to start at the front and work your way back. Use lots of pbblaster or freeall on the bolts and hope that they come out without breaking. I would go with hood, bib, skirts, fenders, windshield and then tub.

Not that hard mate as Shawn said. I have no mechanical experience and removed the body from my 40 in about a day. Start at the front with the doors, guards, roof, until you end up with just a Cowl. It just unbolts with about 8 bolts and lift it off.
