folks,
pulled up the carpet on my 84 fj60. i eventually want to truck bed liner the floor. well of course there was a ton of rust from wet carpeting. does anybody know how to remove the factory flooring material(it looks like toyota's version of a sound insulator)? im refering to the stuff that is stuck directly to the floor pan and feels like a real dense foam/ nerf/tar material. yes the rust even bubbles under this stuff. fixing the rust is the biggest battle on these trucks.

tks

Seconded. Don't let anyone convince you need dry ice and all that crap. Just hit it with an air hammer with a wide tip blade, you'll be done in no time. In fact, it's one of those jobs where cleanup takes longer than the job.
