Cleaning up and replacing gaskets on my intake/exhaust manifold for a 77 fj40. I ordered the remflex manifold gaskets and it came with gaskets for the heat riser but they appear to be much thicker than the ones on there currently. I saw some old posts about those being too thick but they’re pretty aged and wanted to see if anyone had some recent insight.
I guess my question here is that is it worth it pulling the intake/exhaust manifold apart and swapping out those gaskets with the rem-flex ones? If so will the crush enough under torque to not create fitment issues?
While I’m in there should I also put a block off plate? Looks like it currently has the stock plate and the heat riser shield on the swivel has been removed.
