I have a Slee rear bumper with the Jerry can holder on my 2016 LC. The holder and the mounted spare tire blocks the rear camera's view almost completely. I relocated it by mounting it to the underside of the holder. I designed and printed a camera holder and plate to seal the rear hatch opening where the camera was mounted originally. I was motivated to do this after backing into another vehicle in a parking lot last Thanksgiving.

Parts information is on Printables. Search for "Toyota Land Cruiser Rear Camera Relocation Support."

I used four-conductor shielded cable (unfortunately, I only found it in white). The first step was to remove the rear camera from the hatch and cut the wire harness with the camera connector. I cut it close to the main wiring harness because the wires in the main harness was not be used and the camera connector was needed to connect to the extension cable.

The next step was to route the cable from the Slee bumper, up through the rear support, and to the connector located behind the inside roof liner's left corner. There is an opening behind the left edge of the original bumper through which I passed the extension cable. Accessing it required removing the left taillight assembly and the left original bumper.

The original connector cable's wires were connected to the extension cable using 18-22 gauge non-insulated butt connectors, which were covered with heat-shrink tubing and wrapped with waterproof electrical tape. The wire camera wires on the roof liner connector were cut to allow relatively easy access. The cable was connected using the same method as for the other end. Make sure you use the correct connector (SK4) as there are three next to each other. You want the grey connector with the camera wires at terminals 7,8,18,19, and 20.

All that needed to be done at this point was to re-connect SK4, replace the trim pieces, and attach the rear hatch seal and the camera. Make sure to use gasket maker on both the seal and both sides of the mount. The goal is having both are watertight.

Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the display when the camera was in its original position, but the display has a clear, unobstructed view with the camera's new position.

This modification was well worth the effort, and I hope that there are no more rear-end accidents.

OP, thanks for this. I've relo'd the rear camera once before but I just cut cable in the hatch and direct spliced my extension wires. If I am understanding what you did, you found the OEM wire harness connector for the camera (the SK4 connector in your picture):

Was the only thing on that 22 pin connector the 5 wires for the camera? Seems odd Mr. T used a 24 pin connector for 5 wires, so maybe I am misunderstanding. If so, that is an awesome solution. What I think I'd do is just unplug the connector and build/pin a new one as part of my extension harness. I'd leave the OEM wire and maybe even the camera in place as I'm going to upgrade the camera anyway. It would be completely reversible.

I can't find the 24 pin SK4 connector in my FSM. My 200 is a 2015 and my FSM is 2013. I believe the connector you used in here though:

Maybe this is just a model year difference and for 1013-15 its SK1 or SK2.

This is where you passed the cable from the bumper into the interior, correct?:

Thanks for your questions. I cut off the camera connector where the wire bundle goes into a larger bundle as seen in the photo. I did the same at the 22-pin connector. Unfortunately, those wires are shorter and more difficult to work with. In addition to the four wires and shield there are two very thin wires that I did not connect. I'm planning to test connect them this weekend and to see what difference they make. After relocating the camera, the lines showing how close the vehicle is to an object no longer displays. I'm hoping that reconnecting the other wires will solve the problem.
I ran the wire through the grommet behind the driver rear bumper. The connector at the roof is SK4. You can recognize it by its color, gray. Below are the wiring diagram, and connector location and detail. I hope this helps. I'll update my post when I find out what the two fine wires do.

thanks. looks like there are definitely some model year differences in the wiring diagrams.

I wanna relocate mine to the center because it makes lining up my trailer hitch a pain in the butt.
