Is it the thing shaped like a little nipple? My old truck had something that looked like a tire valve stem, but all I can see on this is the little nipple-thing that looks like about 1/4 inch open end wrench sized.

What truck??? It makes it easier if you put your vehicle info in the signature line, then we know where your questions are coming from..

The combination filter/separator on my 1HZ sees virtually no pressure, and has a drain on the bottom. The fuel is filtered going to the pump, not on the high pressure side.

HTH's

Fill the filter first with new diesel... that help.

The nipple is a 10mm

This isn't a high pressure system so to say..... The filter is before the pump.

Just turn the filter off.... Fill new one with fuel... and install.

Then push the hand primer up and down while opening the bleed valve on the filter housing... Then fire it up.

The 2H is very sensible to air in the line .. pump the primer maybe 4 - 5times untill it comes hard on movement. Open carefull the bleeder with 10 wrench. and no problem ..
